detuned has is right, all ages venues with a 21+ section is the only formula for success for any venue within maine. we are such a small market if a show doesnt sell out touring artist are going to wonder why is it worth coming here if the room can't even be half full.

dbodoff i believe atmosphere is at the station which is all ages and 21+. its too bad that the station is disgusting whereas if my grandfather was sully in godsmack i wouldn't suggest he piss on the stage for fear of catching some terminal illness.

venues please figure out how to make the change = more success for maine music scene.

Re: MySpace vs Website??

myspace is the new standard for making a band go public. however some people take a different route, like forever the sickest kids for instance paid for a purevolume promo spot put up a couple demos and got signed not too long after and im possitive that all they had at the time was the purevolume page and a myspace page.

myspace is also alot easier to communicate with your fan base and build a fan base.

plus online store right on your page? its got everything your website probably will never have.

maine artist & resources needs to visit other cities within new england & tristate to really stand out. i think alot of the artist don't know where to start to push the barrier from their homestate into new waters. thats where collaboration and support from local resources can help our state stand out as a solid scene.
