PORT CITY MUSIC HALL SUMMER INTERNSHIP POSITIONS:
The Port City Music Hall, 504 Congress Street, Portland offers internship opportunities in a number of areas pertaining to the administration of a performing arts venue. The skills acquired are adaptable to a variety of administrative positions in music and the performing arts.
Summer internships will begin in June and run through August. Interns will set up a schedule to work in the office at 504 Congress Street during regular business hours. Some evening hours will be required when there is a performance. Interns commit to a weekly schedule of up to 9 hours. One to three college credits are available to students enrolled at several colleges and universities in the area. The PCMH internships are unpaid positions.

Music/Arts Publicity and Promotion
Position in publicity office of Portland performing arts venue presenting nationally touring artists and bands. Experience will include writing and preparing press releases and photos; acquiring and distibuting posters and flyers; target and develop niche marketing lists; assist in developing creative promotional campaigns: in-house and with local media and local business partner co-promotes. Develop and execute creative venue promotions utilizing available and developing electronic media - social networking sites, blogs, YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter, texting, e-mail newsletters, etc. This internship can incorporate a graphic design element if candidate has design experience.
Booking Internship
Assist talent buyers in busy office of Portland performing arts venue presenting nationally touring artists and bands. Daily tasks related to tracking offers, executing contracts, communications with agencies, artist management and publicity contacts, maintaining artist files, and fufilling day-to-day contractual obligations related to performances.
Photography Intern
Unique opportunity at Portland performing arts venue presenting nationally touring artists and bands. Cover the range of activity on days of performances; from documenting behind-the-scenes activity for blogs and social networking media to some performance photography. Own equipment required; photographic experience necessary.
